Modavero means “true style” in Italian, and is inspired by you, my clients, and your journey to discover a style truly your own.
This is my story and how I came to discover my Modavero.
I was born for design, some would say, and as a young adult my peers started to recognize my natural talent.
As my love for design grew, my passion spread from my own life to others, as I drew inspiration from my family and friends, helping them discover their true style, developing an atmosphere both functional and beautifully designed.
It would seem my career would find me quickly in life, but my path wasn’t always straight. I stayed home to raise our two young sons — teaching painting classes for children and adults as an outlet for my creativity. My passion for design drove my continued research of credible design schools where I’d someday make my dedication to design official.
The time had finally come to enroll in the Interior Architecture program at the University of Nevada Las Vegas — a curriculum with a heavy focus on architectural design. There I earned my Bachelor of Science in Interior Architecture & Design degree and my path was set.
My years of experience in hospitality, residential, and commercial design prepared me for working on site with contractors, architects, and dynamic teams that challenged me to grow as a designer. I learned how to galvanize a team and bring spaces to life in a really big way.
Nearly twenty years and thousands of square feet of design projects later, I found myself a free agent in 2018, working with only my closest and most trusted clients. It was only then did I really try to understand my “true style” as a designer. I designed my own process and my own interior design brand, Modavero; known for delivering a professional and highly-personal service.
Inspired by the story and style of my clients, my mission is to use my experience and talent to bring your vision to life, and when I walk away from the space it feels like yours, inspired by your unique Modavero or “true style”.
I am Julie Perkins, and this is my story and muse behind Modavero.
